RRI.CO.ID, Nusantara - The Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) Authority has confirmed that essential public services are ready to support the relocation of civil servants (ASN) to the new capital. Preparations are being accelerated to ensure the move takes place smoothly and on schedule.
Special Staff for Public Communications at the IKN Authority, Troy Pantouw, emphasized that basic public services are a constitutional right for all citizens. This includes civil servants and their families who will reside in IKN.
“Reliable basic services are key to allowing civil servants to relocate and work comfortably in IKN,” Troy said in Nusantara on Monday, 9 February 2026.
Furthermore, Director of Basic Services at the IKN Authority, Suwito, explained that the 1945 Constitution of Indonesia mandates four core public services: healthcare, education, social security, and freedom of religion and worship. These remain the focus of IKN Authority’s efforts, especially in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP).
On healthcare, Suwito said four hospitals are now available in KIPP, with three already operational: Hermina Nusantara Hospital, Mayapada Nusantara Hospital, and the Ministry of Health’s Nusantara General Hospital.
“There are now two to three hospital beds per 1,000 residents, exceeding the national minimum standard of 1 bed per 1,000 people,” he added.
In addition to treatment services, preventive measures are being strengthened, including dengue control, environmental management, and public health education. The authority also runs a Health Check-Up Program twice a year to monitor employees’ health early. Initial results show that over 30 percent of employees under 30 experience high blood sugar, cholesterol, or blood pressure, emphasizing the need for healthy lifestyle initiatives.
In education, IKN Authority is preparing integrated schools from early childhood to high school, set to open with the new academic year. Leading institutions, including Nusantara Intercultural School, Australian Independent School Nusantara, Al-Azhar Summarecon Nusantara, and Sekolah Bina Bangsa Nusantara, have already broken ground. The authority also supports 43 existing schools to ensure quality education for relocating families.
Social security services are also in place. BPJS Health services are available at Hermina and Mayapada hospitals, while BPJS Employment covers work-related accidents and occupational diseases in the KIPP area.
Religious facilities are being prepared as well. Masjid Negara IKN is expected to open during Ramadan 1447 Hijri (2026 CE), hosting prayers, community activities, and Ramadan events. In addition, 12 mosques and 37 prayer rooms across KIPP will serve both Muslims and Christian residents.
Troy noted that preparing religious services is crucial to ensuring the well-being, mental resilience, and comfort of civil servants relocating to the new capital.
“With comprehensive basic services, we are confident that civil servants will move to IKN with safety, comfort, and confidence, welcoming Indonesia’s new center of governance,” Troy said.
