Colorful Jakarta Event Reflects Diversity and Creativity City

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno attended the 2026 Colorful Jakarta/Jakarta Penuh Warna (JPW) event at the Hotel Indonesia (HI) roundabout on Sunday, February 8, 2026. During the event, he emphasized that diversity is the driving force behind Jakarta's revitalization as an inclusive and creative global city.

According to him, Colorful Jakarta is about the identity of a diverse, energetic and creative city. "This show celebrates the culture, communities, MSMEs and the creativity of Jakarta's youth," he said.

He also encouraged Jakarta's youth to contribute to various collaborative spaces, including the performing arts, social activities, and economic empowerment programs.

"Jakarta needs the creativity, compassion, and courage of its young people. Its inclusive and colorful future will be born from the active participation of its youth," he said.

Jakarta Penuh Warna is a monthly event held in conjunction with Car Free Day. It is a space for artistic expression, culture, sports, and community collaboration. The cultural celebration is further enhanced by a lion dance performance in celebration of the Chinese New Year.

Additionally, JPW 2026 aligns with the spirit of welcoming the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Children from various football schools (SSB) in Jakarta showcase their skills, symbolizing the sporting spirit of the younger generation.

"The excitement continues with the Jakarta Light Festival at the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout on February 13. The festival will feature a Chinese New Year–themed lantern decoration competition between buildings," he said. (Misni Parjiati/Bambang MBKA)
