RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Social Affairs Ministry has reportedly distributed thousands of aid packages to flood victims in Subang Regency, West Java. The relief supplies have been dispatched from the West Java Provincial Social Agency Warehouse since Monday, January 27, 2026.

Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf conveyed that the distribution process is being closely monitored to ensure the needs of the residents are met. “The Social Affairs Ministry has distributed aid and is ensuring that the requirements of the affected citizens are fulfilled,” said Yusuf in an official release on Friday, January 30, 2026.

The logistical aid includes 500 ready-to-eat meal packages and 400 ready-to-eat side dish packages. Additionally, the ministry provided 100 children's food packages, 50 sets of children's clothing, 100 family kits, and 100 kidsware sets.

To support shelter needs, the ministry also dispatched 75 mattresses, 100 blankets, and 50 rolled-up tents, as well as one multipurpose tent and five family tents for evacuation centers.

Ministry officials, alongside the local Social Agency’s Services Department and the Disaster Preparedness Volunteers (Tagana), are currently conducting field assessments and evacuating affected residents. A public kitchen has been established at the Pamanukan Subdistrict Office to provide meals for evacuees.

The flooding has impacted 2,128 homes and 2,476 households across six villages in the Subang region. Currently, 172 individuals have sought refuge in Ciasem Hilir Village, while 1,629 others are sheltering in Ciasem Tengah Village.

The disaster was triggered by the overflowing of the Ciasem, Cimacan, Kalensama, and Cijengkol Rivers. Water levels were reported to have reached depths of one to 1.5 meters.

The Subang Regency Administration has declared a state of emergency effective until February 7, 2026. Disaster management efforts involve a coordinated response from the Social Affairs Ministry, local administration, the Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), Indonesian Military-The National Police, volunteers, and the community.
