RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - State-owned railways company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) recorded that 5,920 passengers have utilized the Greater Jakarta Light Rail Transit (LRT) health posts since the commencement of operations on August 28, 2023, through Thursday, January 22, 2026.
These statistics underscore that medical facilities have become a crucial necessity for daily mass transit commuters. Such health services play a vital role in helping the public maintain peak physical condition during their routine travels.
Radhitya Mardika, Manager of Public Relations for Greater Jakarta LRT, confirmed that health post services are available at all stations. The management has deployed 29 competent paramedics to provide first aid to passengers in need.
“Since the start of operations, 5,920 users have received medical attention at our health posts across the Greater Jakarta LRT network. This proves that the presence of health services is an inseparable part of the travel experience,” he said.
The medical services typically handle minor complaints such as headaches, physical fatigue, and nausea. Each post is equipped with basic medication and standard medical diagnostic tools to manage emergency conditions.
Passengers who fall ill suddenly while onboard are encouraged to report directly to the duty officers. Staff will immediately direct them to the nearest station's health post for further medical intervention.
“Public transportation does not only function to deliver users to their destinations. It must also provide a sense of security during the journey, including from a health perspective,” he added.
Medical personnel remain on standby throughout operational hours to ensure rapid response procedures. Supporting facilities, including stretchers and wheelchairs, are fully available at every post.
Yenti, a regular commuter, offered a positive response regarding the availability of these station medical rooms. She emphasized that such facilities are vital, particularly for vulnerable passengers or pregnant women.
"I believe these health rooms are excellent for Greater Jakarta LRT passenger service. Whether for those requiring First Aid (P3K), emergency assistance, or pregnant women in need of help, these rooms are essential," remarked Yenti.
The rail operator reaffirmed its strong commitment to providing a highly secure urban public transportation system. Passenger safety and comfort remain the top priorities in the daily operations of this modern mass transit network. (Annaila Azzahra/Bambang MBKA)
