RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta — Clean water has begun to flow across various points in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh, following the construction of boreholes by the Indonesian Military. This initiative has become a lifeline for residents struggling to recover after devastating floods struck the region nearly two months ago.

The sound of flowing water now resonates at the Suka Mulia Hamlet prayer room in Tangsi Lama Village, Seruway Subdistrict. At the site stands a prominent orange water tower bearing the inscription "The State is Present for the People."

This facility represents a beacon of hope for a community that had faced severe water scarcity since the floods crippled local access.

The borehole in Tangsi Lama is part of the "Indonesian Military Manunggal Air" program, a coordinated effort executed by the Iskandar Muda Military Command. As of Tuesday, January 20, 2026, the program has successfully established dozens of boreholes throughout Aceh Tamiang, complete with supporting infrastructure such as public bathrooms and toilets.

Anang, an administrator at the Al-Falah Quranic Learning Center (TPA) in Banai Village, expressed deep gratitude for the assistance. "The residents are truly thankful to President Prabowo Subianto and the ranks of the Indonesian Military, " he said on Tuesday.

Similar sentiments were shared by the management of the Chalifah Yahya Private Islamic Elementary School (MIS) in Johar Village. They noted that the clean water supply has significantly revitalized activities for both students and the surrounding community.

The Indonesian Military Manunggal Air program has successfully deployed and operationalized boreholes at the following locations in Aceh Tamiang: Kuala Simpang Subdistrict, Seruway Subdistrict, Manyak Payed Subdistrict, Karang Baru Subdistrict.

The Indonesian Military Manunggal Air initiative is expected to significantly bolster community resilience against future disasters.
