RRI.CO.ID, Aceh Singkil - Treasure Island offers long right-hand waves in the Banyak Islands, off the western coast of Sumatra. The remote surf spot attracts intermediate and advanced surfers with powerful rides and relatively tranquil lineups.

Treasure Island forms part of the Banyak Islands, an archipelago comprising around 99 islands with tropical forests and clear waters. Its remote setting provides surfers with a quieter environment away from crowded surf breaks.

The point break can produce rides exceeding 200 meters when conditions align with favorable swell and wind. Larger swells can also create several barrel sections followed by long walls suitable for larger turns.

South to southwest swells provide the wave with consistent energy during the main surfing season from May to October. The break can handle swells between four to twelve feet, covering conditions from head-high waves to triple overhead surf.

Treasure Island works across different tides, although mid to high tides can provide better wave shape. Southwest offshore winds can groom the wave face and create cleaner conditions for longer rides.

Surfers usually reach the lineup through a boat drop-off because the break lies offshore. Experienced local boat operators can help surfers manage entry and exit while navigating the surrounding waters.

The reef remains relatively forgiving compared with some Indonesian surf breaks, but it becomes more exposed during lower tides. Strong currents can also develop during larger swells, requiring surfers to monitor their position throughout the session.

Reaching Treasure Island requires several stages, beginning with travel to North Sumatra before continuing toward the Banyak Islands. Surfers can travel through Nias or Singkil before taking a charter boat or liveaboard toward the surf breaks.

The area's isolation contributes to its uncrowded character but also limits immediate access to medical assistance. Surfers should prepare appropriate equipment, consider reef protection, and remain within conditions matching their experience.
