ITS Anargya EV Team Showcases Engineering Precision on Global Stage

RRI.CO.ID, Surabaya – The recent success of the Anargya ITS EV Team at the 24th Formula SAE Japan 2026 highlights how Indonesian students are mastering the art of engineering precision and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Competing with their latest electric formula car, Mark 6.0, the team from the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya, East Java, secured three awards at the Aichi Sky Expo: 1st Place Three‑View Drawing Awards (EV), 2nd Place MathWorks Modelling Awards (EV), and 2nd Place PR Awards.

According to team supervisor Alief Wikarta, the achievements reflect not only technical skill but also the ability to communicate innovation effectively. “This shows significant progress, particularly in engineering accuracy, modelling optimization, and presenting ideas clearly,” Alief said, as quoted on ITS' official website on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

The lecturer at ITS’s Mechanical Engineering Department explained that Mark 6.0 was developed with a more refined design and modelling approach, enabling the team to excel in both visualization and simulation.

Behind the accolades lay a demanding journey. The students faced challenges ranging from technical adjustments to logistical hurdles and coordination across departments. Alief noted that the team overcame these obstacles through intensive mentoring, continuous evaluation, and data‑driven decision‑making.

Their attention to presentation and documentation also contributed to winning the PR Award, underscoring that success in global competitions requires more than just engineering; it as well demands storytelling and teamwork.

The innovation also ties into broader goals. By advancing electric vehicle technology, the project supports the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly clean energy (Goal 7), industry and innovation (Goal 9), and climate action (Goal 13). Mark 6.0 represents not only a competitive achievement but also a contribution to sustainable mobility solutions.

Alief expressed optimism that ITS will continue to nurture champions of innovation. “Hopefully ITS remains a campus that drives new breakthroughs as a true Home of Champions,” he concluded.

The 24th Formula SAE Japan 2026 is an international student engineering competition held at Aichi Sky Expo, Japan, earlier this month, challenging university teams to design, build, and race formula-style cars, with categories for both internal combustion and electric vehicles.

The event serves as a premier student motorsport engineering competition where teams like Indonesia’s Anargya ITS EV Team demonstrated cutting-edge electric vehicle innovation and earned international recognition.
