The third-seeded Indonesian pair booked their place in the last four after defeating China’s Song Jinyang and Wang Yanwei 21-19, 21-18 in the quarterfinals at Hekinan Ryokuchi Beach Court in Hekinan, Aichi, Japan, on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, Antara reported.
The victory extended Bintang and Sofyan’s strong run in the tournament and moved them one step closer to guaranteeing Indonesia a podium finish.
The opening set was closely contested, with the Chinese pair defending solidly and forcing the Indonesians to work hard for every point. Bintang and Sofyan, however, remained composed in the decisive moments and edged the set 21-19.
