Fajar/Fikri Win Bronze at Asian Games 2026

RRI.CO.ID, Nagoya - Indonesian men's doubles pair Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri won the bronze medal at the 2026 Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya after losing to China's Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang, 17-21, 21-13, 9-21, in the semifinals on Monday, September 28, 2026.

Fajar and Fikri started the match with a closely contested game. However, Liang and Wang managed to capitalize on their opportunities and take the opening game 21-17.

In the second game, Fajar and Fikri increased the pace and put more pressure on the Chinese pair. Their approach paid off as they won the second 21-13 to level the match.

The contest remained tight in the deciding game, with both pairs continuing to challenge each other from the start.

Liang and Wang then played more consistently and maintained their lead until the end. Fajar and Fikri continued to fight back before the Chinese pair closed out the third game 21-9.

The result ended Fajar and Fikri's run in the tournament but secured a bronze medal for Indonesia in the men's doubles event.

Fajar and Fikri's achievement also added to Indonesia's medal tally in badminton at the 2026 Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya.
