Indonesia's New Pair Dejan/Felisha Set for European Tour, Eye Elite Return

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s new mixed doubles pair Dejan Ferdinansyah and Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu are gearing up for their European campaign, aiming to reestablish themselves at the highest level and achieve success together.

The duo was formed after coach Nova Widianto took charge of the national mixed doubles program at the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI). Since then, they have been working to synchronize their playing styles, communication, and on‑court habits.

“As a new pair, adaptation is inevitable. We’re still figuring out what feels comfortable -- how we play, how we communicate,” Dejan said at the national training center in Cipayung, Jakarta, on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

Dejan acknowledged that finding the most effective rhythm takes time but praised Felisha’s composure on court. “She has excellent self‑control, which is a valuable asset for competing at the top level,” he noted.

The 26‑year‑old is no stranger to partner changes, having rotated through three previous teammates -- Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, Bernadine Anindya Wardana, and Apriyani Rahayu -- since joining PBSI in January 2025.

Dejan expressed hopes his partnership with Felisha will prove more enduring and yield stronger results. “I have high expectations. Hopefully we can return to the elite level and achieve better performances. If the results are good, the partnership will last longer,” he said.

Felisha, meanwhile, expressed her eagerness to return to competition after a lengthy absence from BWF tournaments. “I’m hungry, not just to play, but to win,” she declared.

Dejan welcomed her determination, responding with a smile. “She’s hungry, and so am I. Our target is clear, to chase achievements," he assured.

The pair is scheduled to debut at the Denmark Open 2026 from October 13–18, followed by the French Open 2026 from October 20–25. (Diffa Sephiawardhani)
