RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Champions Stage at Indonesia Sports Summit (ISS) 2026 brought Indonesian champion clubs, athletes, and fans together in Jakarta, Sunday, September 13, 2026. The session gave fans a closer look at the stories, management, and teamwork behind championship success.
Indonesian Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Taufik Hidayat represented Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir at the session. Taufik said the forum offered an inspiring opportunity to learn about what makes athletes and clubs successful.
Taufik emphasized that championship success depends not only on athletes, but also on strong management, staff, and coaching teams. “We know that a champion cannot be determined by the athlete alone. Good management, staff, and coaches are also needed,” Taufik said.
Champions Stage featured representatives and athletes from Jakarta LavAni, Bogor Hornbills, Pertamina Enduro, Persib Bandung, and Persebaya Surabaya. Taufik said the speakers also shared different approaches to management and funding.
“The session also showed how someone can become a champion. I was very interested in hearing about everything, from management to funding, because each club has a different approach,” Taufik said.
Meanwhile, Sports Business Management Agency (LPUK) and INA Sports President Director Muhammad Gustri Oktaviandi said Champions Stage was designed to connect championship clubs with their fans. The forum allowed fans to learn about the stories behind clubs beyond their performances on the field.
“This is a platform, a forum, and a moment where clubs that have won championships can meet their fans exclusively,” Gustri said.
Gustri said the forum also helps fans understand a club’s journey from the beginning of a season until it becomes a champion. Champions Stage initially featured football, basketball, and volleyball, with LPUK planning to involve other sports such as badminton and tennis.
The initiative aims to create a collaborative forum connecting clubs, regulators, and fans. It also offers audiences a closer look at the people and systems supporting Indonesia’s growing sports industry.
