Jakarta Ready to Host the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, stated that Jakarta is ready to support the hosting of the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026, which will take place from September 25 to October 5, 2026. During the Roll to Glory: FIFA ASEAN Cup Family Parade in Jakarta on Sunday, September 13, 2026, Pramono stated that through events like this, Jakarta continues to strengthen its position as a sports-friendly city.

Pramono said, "Jakarta is ready to be a good host. As I have repeatedly stated, Jakarta is a city that we are preparing to be sports-friendly and a sports destination. Honestly, events like the FIFA ASEAN Cup mean a lot to Jakarta, and we will provide full support for it."

The Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta will serve as the match venue for Group A of Division 1, which includes Indonesia, Bangladesh, Malaysia, and Singapore. To support the matches, Governor Pramono emphasized that his government will ensure full readiness, particularly regarding safety, comfort, and easy transportation for all participants during their stay in Jakarta.

"Whoever plays in Jakarta must feel safe and comfortable. Everything is easy now, and the transportation is fully ready. If any other assistance is needed, we are ready to provide support," he stated.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI), Erick Thohir, appreciated the Jakarta Government's support for the tournament. He hopes Indonesia can be a great host and achieve its best performance in the competition.

Erick said, "After previously hosting the FIFA U-17 World Cup, we now have the FIFA ASEAN Cup running from September 25 to October 5. Hopefully, this big event for FIFA will see us become a good host, and hopefully, our team will also achieve the best results."

Erick also invited the Indonesian public to warmly welcome supporters from participating countries, including Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. He noted that the tournament should serve as a momentum to strengthen sportsmanship and friendship among ASEAN nations.

Besides Jakarta, the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung will host matches for Group B of Division 1, featuring Vietnam, Pakistan, Thailand, and the Philippines. Additionally, Hong Kong will host Division 2 matches at the Kai Tak Stadium and Mong Kok Stadium for Hong Kong, China, Laos, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Timor-Leste.
