Yeremia/Patra Finish as Runners-up at Pontianak International Challenge 2026

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian men’s doubles shuttlers Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan/Patra Harapan Rindorindo finished as runners‑up at the POLYTRON Pontianak International Challenge 2026 after losing to compatriots Wahyu Agung Prasetyo/Pulung Ramadhan 20–22, 15–21 in the final at Terpadu Sport Hall, Pontianak, West Kalimantan, on Sunday, August 30, 2026.

After the match, Yeremia said he and Patra were not fully satisfied with the runners‑up result. However, he acknowledged the confidence Tyo/Pulung showed throughout the tournament.

“We are not fully satisfied with this result, but in terms of the game, they were more confident and more assured. Last night, when they played Rian/Daniel Edgar, we also saw that they had a nothing‑to‑lose attitude,” he said.

Yeremia added that he and Patra should have secured the first game, but pressure at the end turned the situation around. In the second game, the pressure from Tyo/Pulung intensified, making it difficult for Yeremia/Patra to escape the unfavorable situation.

Next, Yeremia/Patra will compete at the Pontianak Indonesia Masters 2026, scheduled for September 1–6, 2026. Yeremia said they would focus on recovery to ensure they can deliver their best performance.

“Next week at the Super 100 Masters, we will start from the qualifiers, and it can be said that the draw is tougher. For now, we want to focus on recovery first. I feel that my physical condition has declined. Hopefully, I will be fit again next week,” he added.

Meanwhile, Patra said that despite the defeat, he felt there had been progress compared with their previous matches. He hoped this positive trend would continue so they could win a title in future tournaments.

“Thank God, we are still grateful that we could reach the final without any injuries. We feel our progress has improved because we previously lost in rounds that were not satisfying. Hopefully, we can continue to improve and become champions,” he concluded. (Diffa Sephiawardhani)
