Janice and Piter fell 6‑7(6), 6‑1, 8‑10 to Maya Joint/Yifan Xu in a tense match at Club Sonoma, Monterrey, Mexico, on Thursday, August 27, local time.
The opening set was fiercely contested, with both pairs locked at 6‑6 before Joint/Xu edged the tie‑break, Antara reported. Janice and Piter responded strongly in the second, breaking serve three times to dominate 6‑1 and force a deciding super tie‑break.
The final set remained tight until Joint/Xu secured the last two points to clinch a 10‑8 win and advance to the semifinals.
