Merdeka Run 2026 Brings Families Together Through Sport

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Merdeka Run 2026 brings families together through sport and Indonesia's Independence Day celebrations. The event's racepack collection took place in Jakarta on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

Participants collected their race equipment at Wisma Serbaguna GBK before the run on Saturday, August 29. They will start from the Merdeka Palace at 5:00 a.m. local time.

Several participants arrived with their spouses, children, and other family members for the racepack collection. For them, Merdeka Run offers an opportunity to exercise while spending meaningful time together.

Jakarta Timur resident Rizki said he would join Merdeka Run with his wife for the first time. He expressed his happiness about running together during Indonesia's Independence Day celebrations.

“I am very happy to get Merdeka Run tickets with my wife. Hopefully, everything goes smoothly when we run at Merdeka Palace,” Rizki said.

Participant Fadhiya also came with her daughter and will join the family category with her husband. She said the event offers a fun way to maintain fitness while spending time with her family.

Another participant, Lombok student Putra Thoriq, said he initially tried to secure tickets together with his family. However, only he managed to obtain a ticket for this year's event.

“This is my first time participating. Yesterday, I tried to get tickets with my family, but only I will participate. Hopefully, the quota will be increased in the future,” Putra Thoriq said.

The racepack collection ran safely and smoothly until 2:00 p.m., supported by 30 service lanes. Experience zones from several partners also offered interactive activities, product samples, and prize games for participants.

Merdeka Run 2026 is expected to become more than a sporting event for Indonesian families. The run will combine physical activity, family togetherness, and the celebration of Indonesia's 81st Independence Anniversary.
