Garuda Pertiwi U‑17 Gain Valuable Lessons from Training Camp in France

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Young Garuda Pertiwi players regard their training camp in France as a valuable milestone in their journey. The U‑17 women’s national team held a training center at the National Football Centre Clairefontaine from May 3–9, 2026.

The program gave the players firsthand exposure to France’s elite football development environment. They learned about training methods, discipline, tactical understanding, and the demands of international‑level football.

Garuda Pertiwi midfielder Nafeeza Ayasha Nori said she gained many new lessons during the camp. “Thank you to PSSI, Pak Erick Thohir, and Bu Vivin for giving me the chance to experience the TC in Paris,” Nafeeza noted in a statement released by the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

She added that the experience provided valuable lessons that will shape her journey with Garuda Pertiwi. “I was able to learn many new things there,” Nafeeza said of her time in France.

Similarly, Kesya Arabela Manisya Nian described the opportunity to train in France as highly meaningful. “My teammates and I are very grateful for the chance to undergo TC in France,” she said.

Kesya emphasized that not every player gets such an opportunity, making it a pivotal moment in her career. “It is very valuable because not all players are given this chance,” she explained.

The experience at Clairefontaine has become an important foundation for players as they prepare for international competition with Garuda Pertiwi. The camp coincided with Indonesia’s participation in the Srikandi Merdeka Cup 2026, an international U‑16 women’s tournament featuring seven countries.

Indonesia fielded two teams, Garuda Pertiwi and Putri Nusantara. Garuda Pertiwi advanced to the final but fell 1–0 to Thailand. (Diffa Sephiawardhani)
