RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian women's single shuttler Thalita Ramadhani Wiryawan advanced to the BWF World Championships 2026 round of 32, setting up a high-profile clash with South Korean world-class shuttler An Se Young in New Delhi, India.
Thalita secured her place in the second round after defeating Peru’s Ines Lucia Castillo 22-20, 21-7 in the round of 64 on Monday, August 17, 2026, local time.
“In the next round, I will face An Se Young (South Korea). I’m also happy that I will finally share the court with her, so I will try to play my best,” Thalita said on Monday, August 17, as quoted by Antara.
The meeting will give Thalita an opportunity to test her ability on the World Championships stage after successfully overcoming her opening match. Against Castillo, Thalita faced strong resistance in the opening game before securing a narrow 22-20 victory.
She then played more comfortably in the second game, allowing her opponent just seven points to close out the match 21-7. “Thankfully, the match went smoothly. I was still adjusting to the court in the first game, but I was able to adapt more quickly in the second game,” Thalita added.

It is more prestigious, and I could really feel the pressure today,” Thalita contnued. ***
