RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian men’s national basketball team is sharpening preparations for the FIBA Asia Cup 2029 Pre‑Qualifiers, with head coach David Singleton drilling a squad of 17 players.

Indonesia has been drawn into Group C alongside Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Singapore. The first‑round matches will take place from August 24 to September 1, 2026, in Seremban, Malaysia.

Indonesian Basketball Association's (Perbasi) National Team Agency (BTN) has arranged a training schedule for the 17 players projected to compete in the pre‑qualifiers.

“The roster was finalized after thorough discussions between the coaching staff and management, based on the team’s needs and comprehensive monitoring,” team manager Rivaldo Tandra told RRI.co.id on Wednesday, August 5.

Among those called up is Derrick Michael Xzavierro, who plays professionally in Japan and is expected to be a key scoring force. Other notable names include Anthony Bean Jr., Ali Bagir, and Andakara Prastawa, joining Yudha Saputera, Dame Diagne, Rio Disi, and Dio Tirta to strengthen the lineup.

The team began training on Sunday, August 2, at Dewa United Arena, which has been designated as the training camp venue. “We ask for the support and prayers of the Indonesian people, so our preparations run smoothly.
