RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian golfer Jonathan Wijono delivered the country’s best result in the men’s individual stroke play event at the 2026 Asian Games, finishing 15th with a total of 277 strokes, three under par, at Kasugai Country Club East Course in Aichi, Japan, on Saturday, October 3.
Wijono closed the fourth and final round with 69 strokes, three under par on the course, which has a par of 72. His performance made him Indonesia’s highest-finishing golfer in the event, Antara reported.
He began his final round with pars on the first three holes before recording a birdie on the fourth. He then made par on the fifth and sixth holes. He added another birdie on the seventh but gave up a stroke with a bogey on the eighth. He completed the front nine in 35 strokes, one under par.
On the back nine, Wijono made par on the 10th hole before recording a bogey on the 11th. He recovered with consecutive birdies on the 12th and 13th holes.
Another bogey on the 14th briefly interrupted his progress, but Wijono maintained his composure over the final four holes. He made pars on the 15th and 16th, a birdie on the 17th, and a par on the 18th.
With 34 strokes on the back nine, Wijono completed the round in 69 strokes and finished the tournament three under par. His result was the best among Indonesia’s three golfers in the men’s individual stroke play event.
Naraajie Emerald Ramadhan Putra finished 27th with a total of 282 strokes, two over par, after completing his final 18 holes. Meanwhile, Randy Arbenata Mohamad Bintang did not advance to the fourth round after missing the cut. He finished his campaign with 223 strokes, 13 over par. ***
