Indonesia to Field Rising Stars, Seasoned Players at Badminton Asia Championships

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian badminton team is preparing for the Badminton Asia Championships (BAC) 2026, scheduled for April 7–12 at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center in China. The tournament, equivalent to a BWF Super 1000 event, will see Indonesia field a mix of seasoned stars and promising newcomers.

Two debutants will be given valuable exposure at this world-class competition. In women’s singles, Thalita Ramadhani Wiryawan will make her first appearance at BAC, having previously represented Indonesia at the Badminton Asia Team Championships. In men’s doubles, a fresh pairing in Devin Artha Wahyudi/Ali Faathir Rayhan will be introduced, Antara reported.

Despite these new faces, the squad remains anchored by established names. Men’s singles will feature experienced campaigner Jonatan Christie, supported by rising talents Alwi Farhan and Moh Zaki Ubaidillah. In women’s singles, Putri Kusuma Wardani continues her consistent role as a mainstay of the national team.

The men’s doubles lineup remains strong with world-class duo Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, joined by Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani and Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin, alongside the debutants Wahyudi/Rayhan.

Women’s doubles will be represented by Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari, Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum, and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi.

Indonesia is also sending four mixed doubles pairs: Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu, Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah, Adnan Maulana/Indah Cahya Sari Jamil, and Bobby Setiabudi/Melati Daeva Oktavianti.

With a balanced squad that combines experienced players and emerging talents, Indonesia enters the Badminton Asia Championships 2026 aiming to showcase its depth and reaffirm its position as one of Asia’s badminton powerhouses. ***
