RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian women’s doubles pair Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti are taking a different mindset into the All England Open 2026, choosing to enjoy the moment after securing a place in the second round of the prestigious tournament.

“We want to enjoy it here,” Fadia said after their round of 32 match at Utilita Arena in Birmingham, England, early Thursday, March 5, as quoted by Antara.

In their opening match at the world’s oldest badminton tournament, Tiwi/Fadia defeated Taiwan’s Hsu Ya Ching/Sung Yu-Hsuan 21-16, 22-20 to advance to the round of 16.

Fadia admitted this year feels different compared to previous editions, where the pair often encountered obstacles that prevented them from performing at their best. “There’s a sense of excitement this year because in previous years there were always issues. Now, thankfully, we were able to complete the match without injury,” she said.

The Indonesian duo delivered a solid performance in the first game, leading from the start and closing it out 21-16. However, they struggled in the second game, trailing at the interval after being drawn into their opponents’ faster tempo.

“In the second game, we followed our opponents’ pattern too much, became rushed, and made many unforced errors,” Fadia explained.

Tiwi added that they tried to regain control by changing their approach after falling behind. “After trailing by quite a bit, we adjusted our pattern and returned to our initial strategy. Our hope is to perform at our maximum in every match, the results will follow,” she said.

With a more relaxed and performance-focused approach, Tiwi/Fadia aim to maintain consistency in the upcoming rounds. They will next face fifth seeds from Japan, Yuki Fukushima/Mayu Matsumoto, who comfortably defeated Malaysia’s Ong Xin Yee/Carmen Ting 21-17, 21-8. ***
