RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - As the 2026 European badminton season kicks off, Indonesia’s top women’s doubles pairs, Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi and Apriyani Rahayu/Lanny Tria Mayasari, are targeting valuable world ranking points at the German Open.
The BWF World Tour Super 300 tournament runs from February 24 to March 1, 2026, at Westenergie Sporthalle in Mulheim an der Ruhr, Germany, offering a total prize pool of USD 250,000 (about IDR 4.2 billion), Antara reported.
The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) is focusing exclusively on these two women’s doubles pairs, leaving other categories unrepresented. Both pairs will be guided by coach Nitya Krishinda Maheswari throughout the tournament.
In the opening round, Apriyani/Lanny will take on a pair advancing from the qualification stage, while Fadia/Tiwi are set to clash with Denmark’s Kathrine Vang/Mette Werge.
Top seeds in the women’s doubles draw include Bulgaria’s Gabriela Stoeva/Stefani Stoeva, followed by Taiwan’s Hsu Yin-Hui/Lin Jhih Yun and Hsu Ya Ching/Sung Yu-Hsuan.
The German Open presents a key opportunity for the Indonesian pairs to sharpen their competitive rhythm and accumulate ranking points early in the European leg of the season, setting the tone for upcoming international tournaments. ***
