RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Jakarta’s Pos Bloc turned into a hub of energy as hundreds of athletes tested their endurance in the Hybrid Race Hystoric, a competition blending running with physical challenges. The event was organized by Hypefast, a technology-based house of brands, as part of its first wellness festival.

“Our goal is to inspire young Indonesians to embrace healthier lifestyles through sports,” said Hypefast CEO and Founder Achmad Alkatiri at a press conference on Saturday, February 7, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Nearly 600 athletes registered across four categories of men’s doubles, women’s doubles, mixed doubles, and group relay. 

The hybrid race format, adapted from global standards, required participants to complete eight 500-meter runs interspersed with eight physical challenges, including skierg, deadlifts, burpees to plate, rowerg, kettlebell swings, box step overs, stationary lunges, and wallballs.

Alkatiri described the event as Indonesia’s largest hybrid race to date, positioning it as a strategic step for Hypefast to engage directly with consumers while strengthening the country’s hybrid sports ecosystem. 

The company partnered with Garmin to integrate wearable technology, educating participants on balancing training intensity with recovery. “We hope this becomes a space for young people to start, stay consistent, and enjoy the process of moving actively,” Alkatiri added.

Race Ambassador Hong Beom Seok, a professional hybrid athlete from South Korea and runner-up of Physical 100 Season 2, praised the format’s relevance for Indonesia as it builds its base of hybrid athletes. 

“This gives more people the chance to experience hybrid racing in a controlled environment, helping them assess readiness before stepping into larger competitions,” he said.

Hong also joined the competition to motivate participants through his performance.

The one-day event on Saturday showcased Pos Bloc’s role as an inclusive public space capable of hosting community and sports activities in a structured way. ***
