Ministry Strengthens Post-Disaster Recovery Through Business Literacy in Padang

RRI.CO.ID, Padang Pariaman - The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency organized a Post-Disaster Business Literacy Program for creative economy practitioners in Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra. This program underscores that the government's post-disaster recovery efforts focus not only on physical restoration but also on the continuity of businesses and the livelihoods of affected communities.

In a statement received on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, the activity organized by the Deputy for Strategic Development of the Creative Economy through the Directorate of Funding Access, Financing and Investment was attended by 50 creative economy actors in the region. Participants received training to strengthen their business and financial literacy and gained information on various forms of support available to help develop their businesses following the disaster.

The Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, stated that his ministry is committed to supporting recovery while strengthening the business capacity of creative economy practitioners affected by the disaster. "Creative economy practitioners must be part of the recovery process. We want them not only to resume business operations but also to possess the capacity to grow and remain resilient," he said.

The Regent of Padang Pariaman, John Kenedy Azis, expressed appreciation for the support and collaboration of various parties in assisting the recovery of creative economy practitioners in his region. He emphasized that community economic recovery requires cross-sector collaboration. "We hope this activity serves as a tangible step toward helping creative economy practitioners bounce back and resume developing their businesses," he said.

Echoing the Regent's sentiments, the Director of Access to Funding, Financing, and Investment at Kemenekraf, Anggara Hayun Anujuprana, affirmed the importance of strengthening business capacity during the post-disaster recovery process. "Business recovery is not just about resuming sales; it is also about ensuring creative economy practitioners have the knowledge and readiness to build businesses that are more resilient and sustainable," he stated.

Support for this recovery effort is further bolstered through collaboration with the banking sector. Aryanto Yudho, Assistant Vice President of Bank Mandiri’s Government & Institutional 1 Group, stated that inter-institutional collaboration plays a crucial role in supporting the community's economic recovery and revitalizing business activities in Padang Pariaman.

This program is designed to be sustainable, extending beyond the mere provision of literacy materials. Participants are equipped with practical knowledge covering topics such as business literacy, awareness of funding security, and methods for accessing capital. Creative economy actors who meet the criteria can then participate in the mentoring and assistance stage, before entering the pitching session to introduce their business to potential partners and funding sources, which is then followed by monitoring the impact on business development.
