RRI.CO.ID, Makassar – The South Sulawesi Animal, Fish, and Plant Quarantine Agency (South Sulawesi Quarantine) held a morning briefing to improve public services and strengthen staff understanding of regulations. The briefing was led by the Head of South Sulawesi Quarantine, Sitti Chadidjah, the event took place at the Mabudatora Hall, according to a statement received on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
The briefing was attended by staff from the agency’s headquarters and various Service Units (Satpel) across South Sulawesi. It provided a forum to evaluate operational issues, follow up on public feedback, and align staff understanding of regulations regarding field operations.
Service evaluation one of the main topics discussed during the briefing. Public feedback and complaints submitted through SP4N-LAPOR!, WhatsApp, and directly to officers were reviewed as input for improving services. The evaluation also covered physical inspections at airports, seaports, and all Service Units, as well as the readiness of facilities and infrastructure supporting quarantine services.
Another key focus was strengthening compliance with quarantine regulations. Staff reviewed the Indonesian Quarantine Agency Regulation Number 4 of 2026 concerning the Designation of Carrier Media Subject to State Control with the aim of ensuring that the regulation is understood and applied consistently in the field.
A common understanding is important in helping officers identify and handle carrier media that fall under state control. This will help ensure that quarantine measures are carried out in accordance with regulations while providing certainty to the public and service users.
Sitti also encouraged all Service Units to make full use of the BEST TRUST and QUVERA applications. She emphasized that the public service innovations should make procedures easier and help improve the effectiveness of services provided to the public.
Beyond matters of service and regulation, the Head of the South Sulawesi Quarantine Agency also emphasized the importance of employee integrity and discipline. "Integrity is not merely about avoiding bribery and collusion; it is also about being disciplined in our work and in fulfilling our responsibilities. Attendance should not be viewed simply as clocking in; rather, it is about ensuring that our working hours are truly dedicated to fulfilling our duties and delivering results," she asserted.
Sitti also reminded the entire staff to uphold professionalism, ethics, and the institution's image while serving the public. "Quarantine is an institution that operates nationally and internationally. Therefore, we must collectively safeguard the institution's image. From our dress code, demeanor, and speech, to our service to the public, everything reflects the institution," she said.
