RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto took part in a symbolic joint tree‑planting ceremony with fellow BRICS leaders during the 2026 Summit in New Delhi, India, on Saturday, September 12.
The event was held at the Nataraj Statue area of Bharat Mandapam, underscoring a shared commitment to sustainability and long‑term cooperation.
Before the planting, President Prabowo joined other leaders for a group photo, standing beside Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el‑Sisi. Together, the leaders then planted banyan trees --India’s national tree, known for its deep roots and longevity, symbolizing resilience and enduring partnership.
President Prabowo was seen walking with the delegation to the site, taking a shovel to place soil over the banyan sapling, and later watering it to complete the procession.
