Indonesian Air Force Reinforces Cyber Readiness Against Digital Threats

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Air Force strengthens the cyber readiness of its personnel and units through a two-day Cyber Security Readiness Workshop. It was held at the Air Force Headquarters Cyber Unit Building in Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

The workshop is part of efforts to enhance the Air Force's ability to address threats to digital systems and infrastructure.

“Cyber Security Readiness essentially means the readiness of personnel, systems, networks, devices, data, and procedures to face cyber threats. We must be able to prevent, detect, respond to, and recover systems when disruptions or cyber incidents occur,” Assistant for Communications and Electronics to the Chief of the Indonesian Air Force, Rear Marshal Deni Hasoloan Simanjuntak said.

Deni said information and communication technology is becoming increasingly integrated into the Indonesian Air Force's operations, including information systems, communication networks, command and control systems, and weapon system support systems. This growing reliance makes cyber readiness an essential part of maintaining operational continuity.

He emphasized that cybersecurity does not depend solely on technology but also requires the active involvement of all personnel. Therefore, cyber awareness needs to be developed as a shared culture and responsibility to address various forms of cyber threats.

“We must be able to prevent, detect, respond to, and recover systems when disruptions or cyber incidents occur,” Deni said.

The workshop provided participants with training on the basic concepts of Cyber Security Readiness and cyber readiness for defense infrastructure. The materials covered the latest cyber threat landscape, case studies of attacks on critical infrastructure, incident response, and efforts to build a cyber readiness culture within the organization.

Through the workshop, participants are expected to gain a better understanding of how to identify potential vulnerabilities, respond to cyber incidents, and strengthen preparedness against threats to digital systems and infrastructure.
