RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Budget Committee (Banggar) of the Indonesian House of Representatives held a working meeting with the government at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday, August 27, 2026. During the meeting, Finance Minister Purbaya, Yudhi Sadewa, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to driving a productive and highly competitive economic transformation.
The Finance Minister stated that the government is optimistic that the national economic performance in 2027 will remain solid and stable, with a growth target of 6 percent. Synergy in fiscal policy and the optimization of strategic investments are among the key factors for strengthening overall macroeconomic stability.
Purbaya explained, “In 2027, the government is optimistic that the national economy will remain solid and stable, in line with sustained macroeconomic stability and government policy support. Economic growth is targeted at 6 percent, driven by strengthened synergy among fiscal, monetary, and financial sector policies, as well as the optimization of Danantara’s role in promoting strategic investment.”
The Finance Minister’s statement aligns with the presentation of the 2027 Government Work Plan by Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas, Rachmat Pambudy. Before the leadership of the House of Representatives’ Budget Committee, Rachmat explained that the achievement of economic targets is supported by measures ranging from improving the efficiency of state-owned enterprise assets to the development of special economic zones.
“Economic growth for 2027 in the Government Work Plan is targeted at 6%, driven by key policies including the development of strategic industries, increasing productivity and production of staple foods, boosting the productivity of 10 million people engaged in business and employment through the Prokesra program, maintaining public purchasing power, and ensuring the optimization of SOE assets as well as the development of industrial zones and other special economic zones,” Rachmat said.
In more detail, Purbaya explained that the 2027 Draft State Budget (RAPBN) will focus on eight clusters of national priority programs. These clusters include food sovereignty, energy and water self-reliance, education, health, downstream processing and industrialization, housing infrastructure and disaster resilience, strengthening the people’s economy and rural development, and poverty reduction.
To support the success of these priority clusters, the government has also prepared a key supporting program covering five strategic areas. This supporting program focuses on strengthening defense and security, law enforcement, governance, accelerating digitalization, and economic diplomacy.
