Defense Ministry to Train Thousands of Civil Servants for Reserve Component

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - A total of 2,105 civil servants (ASN) from 50 ministries and government institutions will participate in the second batch of Basic Military Training (Latsarmil) for the Reserve Component (Komcad). The Head of the National Reserve Agency of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General TNI Gabriel Lema, announced the figure during a ceremony to send off prospective ASN Reserve Component members at the 1st Brigade Airborne Rapid Response Forces (Pasgat) Field, Halim Perdanakusuma, East Jakarta, on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
“The quota provided is 3,000 people. The number proposed by the 50 ministries and government institutions was 3,180 people,” he said.
“Of the 2,590 participants who underwent medical examinations, 2,105 passed and proceeded to the next stage of selection, while 485 did not pass. Another 590 people are still awaiting medical examinations,” he added. The participants will undergo basic military training at five educational institutions.
A total of 353 participants will be stationed at the Army Health Education Center, 338 at the 1st Infantry Brigade of the 1st Marine Force (Brigif 1 Pasmar 1), 497 at the Air Force Language Center under the Air Force Doctrine, Education, and Training Command (Pusbahasa Kodiklat AU), 449 at the 461st Rapid Response Forces Battalion (Yonif 461 Pasgat), and 468 at the 465th Rapid Response Forces Battalion (Yonif 465 Pasgat).
Before taking part in the basic military training, the participants had undergone administrative and medical examinations.
The administrative screening was conducted from June 17 to August 10, 2026, at the National Reserve Agency of the Ministry of Defense. Medical examinations were subsequently carried out from August 3 to 11, 2026, at six hospitals: the Sudirman National Defense Central Hospital (RSPPN) of the Ministry of Defense, the Army Health Education Center Hospital (Puskesad), Cilandak Marine Hospital, Dr. Esnawan Antariksa Hospital, Ridwan Meuraksa Hospital, and Dr. Mintohardjo Hospital.
The participants will then undergo physical, psychological, and ideological assessment data collection from August 15 to 20, 2026, at the five educational institutions where the basic military training will be held.
Gabriel Lema, said the basic military training would last approximately one and a half months. “The basic military training is scheduled to begin on August 24. The training will then be conducted according to the program for approximately one and a half months,” Gabriel said at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, East Jakarta, on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
“After this one-and-a-half-month period, the training will be concluded and the participants will be officially designated as Reserve Component members, which is expected to take place around October 7, 2026,” he added.
According to him, the Reserve Component is part of the national defense system and is prepared to strengthen the main defense component. Its establishment is regulated under Law No. 23 of 2019 concerning the Management of National Resources for National Defense.
