Indonesian Air Force Aircraft Deliver 27 Tons of Aid to Earthquake Victims in NTT

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) deployed two Hercules aircraft to accelerate the delivery of government aid to communities affected by an earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). A total of 27.09 tons of initial aid departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta for Komodo International Airport in NTT on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Commander of the 1st Air Transport Group, First Marshal I Gusti Putu Setia Darma, emphasized the importance of readiness and safety in carrying out the humanitarian mission.

“Carry out the mission with full focus and always prioritize flight safety,” Putu Setia Darma said while inspecting the flight preparations at the Base Operations apron of Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base.

The aid was transported aboard a C-130J Super Hercules carrying 14 tons and a C-130 Hercules carrying 13.09 tons. The supplies consisted of essential goods for communities affected by the earthquake.

In addition to the two Hercules aircraft, the Indonesian Air Force also deployed a Boeing 737-800 to transport personnel who will assist with disaster response efforts in the affected areas.

The airlift is intended to speed up the distribution of essential supplies to affected communities. The Hercules aircraft's large cargo capacity enable a significant volume of aid to be transported in a single series of flights to NTT before being distributed to those in need.

The deployment of the aircraft is part of the Indonesian Air Force's efforts to accelerate the response to the earthquake and ensure that essential assistance reaches affected communities in East Nusa Tenggara as quickly as possible.
