RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) deployed 146 personnel to serve in the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day Commemoration Ceremony. The contingent was dispatched thru a Special Assembly at the TNI AU Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

Air Force Chief of Staff (Kasau), Air Marshal TNI M. Tonny Harjono, said that the involvement of the Air Force contingent is a manifestation of the institution's readiness to deliver its best performance at one of the most important state ceremonies in Indonesia.

"This parade is a manifestation of the readiness of the Air Force to represent the institution in one of the most sacred state ceremonies. Thru this parade, we ensure that all personnel, materials, and necessary support are ready," Tonny Harjono said.

The Air Force Chief of Staff affirmed that the Commemoration of the Proclamation of Independence is a historic moment that reflects the spirit of struggle, sacrifice, and national unity. Therefore, every personnel on duty bears the responsibility of upholding the honor of the Indonesian Air Force in the presence of heads of state, international guests, and the public.

"You do not only stand as a ceremonial troop, but also represent the values of patriotism, nationalism, and military discipline for the younger generation of Indonesia," he explained.

The contingent that was dispatched consists of 41 male ceremonial troops, 38 female Air Force personnel (Wara), 30 music unit personnel (Satsik), 35 participants of the Honor and Sacred Reflection Ceremony (AKRS), and two ceremony officers. All personnel will undergo a series of training sessions before serving at the commemoration of the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day.

Thru this assignment, the Indonesian Air Force hopes that the contingent can demonstrate the professionalism, discipline, and integrity of Indonesian air force personnel, while also strengthening Indonesia's image in the organization of state ceremonies that attract national and international public attention.
