RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Indonesia's Ministry of Cooperatives has reaffirmed its full commitment to eradicating all forms of corruption in order to support the success of the President’s priority programs. This step aligns with Indonesia’s efforts to strengthen clean and transparent governance in the cooperative sector.

These preventive measures were implemented through an anti-corruption outreach event involving the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in Jakarta on Friday, July 31, 2026. This effort is crucial for maintaining accountability in the management of tens of thousands of cooperatives across the country.

Indonesian's Minister of Cooperatives, Ferry Juliantono, emphasized that the integrity of all personnel is an absolute requirement in carrying out the mandate of national development. He also assured that there would be zero tolerance for violations or abuse of authority in the management of the state budget.

“The Ministry of Cooperatives is entrusted with a major responsibility regarding existing cooperatives, which number more than 130,000, and the Village/Urban Village Cooperatives of Red and White (KDKMP), which is scheduled to have approximately 35,000 units ready to operate this August. A mandate and responsibility of this magnitude can only be carried out with the public’s trust,” he said.

He stated that employee integrity is viewed as the main bulwark in overseeing community economic transformation programs at the village level. This is necessary to ensure that the implementation of the government’s strategic programs proceeds according to their objectives and yields tangible results.

“The President’s vision and aspirations need to be translated into technical terms and implemented in detail; therefore, this event is important for equipping us with the knowledge of how to maintain public trust,” Ferry said.

KPK Deputy Chairman, Ibnu Basuki Widodo, emphasized that combating corruption requires the active involvement of all institutional elements through early prevention efforts. Continuous educational initiatives are considered more effective in fostering a culture of organizational integrity over the long term.

“If education is in place and prevention measures have been taken, but corruption still occurs in the end, then enforcement is necessary to create a deterrent effect. Therefore, the educational program organized by the Ministry of Cooperatives is excellent. Prevention is nobler than enforcement,” he said.
