Indonesia's Ministry of Hajj Enhances Financial Governance Amid Transition

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Hajj is strengthening financial governance during its ongoing institutional transition process. The statement was delivered in Jakarta on Tuesday, April 1, 2026.

It was conveyed during the FGD on Budget Implementation and Salary Data Reconciliation 2026. Secretary General of the ministry, Teguh Dwi Nugroho, expressed optimism about improving more accountable and transparent financial management practices. He said the transition phase brings strong momentum for comprehensive and sustainable institutional restructuring efforts.

This includes improvements in planning, budgeting systems, and overall financial management processes. The establishment of Kemenhaj follows a direct mandate from the Indonesian President to improve Hajj governance.

It is seen as a strategic moment to build a stronger and more adaptive institutional foundation. The transformation focuses on creating integrated, transparent, and professional governance systems across all units.

He also highlighted that financial governance remains a key priority during this important institutional transition phase. He emphasized the importance of developing effective, efficient, and accountable financial management systems.

“We see this process as a strategic step to strengthen institutional foundations, especially in more effective and accountable financial management,” he said.

The ministry is currently preparing its Strategic Plan to guide future policies and priority programs. The process is conducted comprehensively to ensure alignment across planning, budgeting, and program implementation stages. It also ensures proper execution of government programs in a more coordinated manner.

The ministry is also improving salary and performance allowance payment mechanisms for better financial governance. These payments will be centralized through the Finance Bureau to improve efficiency and administrative control.

The system aims to enhance administrative order, transparency, and data accuracy in budget management. In addition, the ministry promotes a professional and integrity-driven work culture among all of its employees.

Recognition is given to high-performing employees to encourage better human resource quality and motivation. This effort supports institutional strengthening and long-term organizational development during the transition period.
