RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – AirNav Indonesia and Airbus International officially established a strategic partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to optimize air traffic management efficiency and promote the sustainability of national aviation in Jakarta on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. This vital collaboration was signed by AirNav Indonesia President Director Avirianto Suratno and Airbus International President Wouter van Wersch at the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas Office, witnessed directly by the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Rachmat Pambudy.
This cooperation serves as a framework for both parties to explore various opportunities for the sustainable optimization of Air Traffic Management within Indonesia's airspace. These efforts are directed at supporting national aviation operational efficiency while simultaneously reducing the environmental impact of aviation activities.
AirNav Indonesia President Director Avirianto Suratno stated that the collaboration is part of the company's ongoing efforts to enhance its contribution to the national aviation system. He highlighted that this aims to ensure airspace management becomes increasingly efficient and adaptive to air traffic growth.
"For AirNav Indonesia, the optimization of national aviation is inseparable from how airspace is managed safely, smoothly, efficiently, and with the capability to respond to air traffic growth," Avirianto expressed. Through collaboration with Airbus, his team aims to identify various solutions that can enhance operational efficiency without disregarding the distinctive characteristics of Indonesia's airspace.

Furthermore, the primary focus of this cooperation is identifying areas within current air traffic management practices that hold the greatest potential for optimization. Both parties will also map out technological and operational solutions that have proven successful in improving environmental performance and suppressing emissions.
During this evaluation process, experiences derived from global modernization programs such as SESAR and ASBU will serve as essential references. These international benchmarks will be meticulously tailored to suit the operational needs and characteristics of Indonesia's national airspace.
"We do not simply bring global solutions to be implemented in Indonesia because every solution needs to be reviewed from technical and operational perspectives to match our needs," Avirianto stated. Through this thorough review process, both parties hope to produce concrete recommendations to strengthen the sustainability aspects of national aviation moving forward.
