RRI.CO.ID, Tokyo – Indonesian Ambassador to Japan, Nurmala Kartini P. Sjahrir, inaugurated 25 members of the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo’s 2026 Flag-Raising Team (Paskibra) at Balai Indonesia, Tokyo, Japan, on Saturday, August 15, 2026. According to a statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo received in Jakarta on Saturday, the 25 Paskibra members are students of the Tokyo Indonesian School (SIT) from various educational levels and backgrounds.
The inauguration began with the reading of the Indonesian Youth Pledge, led by Ambassador Kartini and followed by all Paskibra members.
During the ceremony, Kartini officially inaugurated the 2026 Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo Paskibra team, which will serve during the ceremony commemorating the 81st Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence. Kartini congratulated the members who had completed a selection process and intensive training.
She said that preparing to become a Paskibra member requires discipline, punctuality, and the ability to follow all instructions and commands from the trainers.
“Besides learning discipline, you must also be able to control your emotions and learn to respect and tolerate one another. Follow all instructions and commands from the trainers,” Kartini said.
According to her, serving as a Paskibra member is a valuable opportunity for students to build character and develop discipline. Kartini also reminded the members that they play an important role in the celebration of Indonesia’s 81st Independence Anniversary.
“Together, we look forward to a new Indonesia, an Indonesia that you will lead in the future. Our dream is for a Golden Indonesia in 2045, and you will be part of it,” she said.
Kartini also expressed her appreciation to the trainers for providing guidance and training to the Paskibra members. The 2026 Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo Paskibra team was trained by six Indonesian Military (TNI) cadets from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, who are currently studying at the National Defense Academy in Yokosuka, Japan.
The inauguration was also attended by Deputy Ambassador of Indonesia to Japan Maria Renata Hutagalung, officials from the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo, SIT teachers, and the parents of the Paskibra members.
During the ceremony, the parents symbolically placed traditional sashes around their children’s waists as part of the inauguration ceremony.
One of the Paskibra members, Naura Caeli Maghya, a ninth-grade student at SIT, said she was proud to be part of the 2026 Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo Paskibra team.
“This is my first time becoming a member of the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo Paskibra team. The most challenging part is being able to perform every movement in sync with the other members. I am very proud to be a Paskibra member,” Naura said.
