RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Some Indonesians received award from the Embassy of Ecuador in Indonesia for their contributions in cultural diplomacy between the two countries. The award was given during Tertulia Budaya Ecuador and Indonesia event in Jakarta, Monday, June 29, 2026.

The three recepients were recognized for their part in across different sectors. The first award went to Danny Susanto for role in strengthening and preserving intangible cultural heritage between Ecuador and Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Holila Hatta was awarded for advancing academic cooperation of both nations. While the last award was presented to Hasfarm Bromelia, a supplier company, in acknowledgement of its efforts to promote floral cooperation between Ecuador and Indonesia.

Speaking to RRI Voice of Indonesia, Ambassador of Ecuador to Indonesia, Luis Arellano Jibaja, explained that the award aims to recognize Indonesians in sharing the culture, economy, and gastronomy between the two countries. "And every year, we meet with them, with artists, poets, writers, to share experience. To share Ecuadorian and Indonesian experience in the arts," he said.

Ambassador Jibaja further affirmed that culture is the best way to strenghten relations between countries. According to him, proximity of nations is not the main factor of bringing nations closer, considering the distance between Indonesia and Ecuador.

Then, one of the awardee, Danny Susanto admitted to surprised and happy to get the recognition. He then shared his plans to further bridge the cultures of nations, not only between Indonesia and Ecuador, but with more countries.

"Because we believe that through poems, through literature, through culture, we can build, we canstrengthen the relationship among countries, among people. And of course, my aim is to go further, not only here with Ecuadorian embassy, but with other embassies as well. Because I'm an international person and I love to promote especially our poems to international level," Danny Susanto said.
