RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia continues to accelerate the development of its national halal industrial ecosystem to capture a larger share of the global halal value chain. This strategic drive was highlighted during the Industrial Festival x Halal Indo 2026, which successfully generated Rp622 billion or over US$34 million in business commitments.

Held at ICE BSD in Tangerang from September 24 to 27, the four-day event drew 28,707 visitors and featured 346 tenants showcasing innovations within the halal sector. Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita stated that Indonesia aims to transition from being merely a massive consumer market into a major global halal production base.

"Indonesia must not only remain a market for global halal products. We must take on a larger role as a global halal producer and production base," Minister Agus noted in a press statement released in Jakarta on Monday, September 28, 2026.

The exhibition successfully facilitated direct retail transactions totaling Rp8.4 billion or around US$466,355 alongside massive business-to-business agreements worth Rp622 billion or over US$34 million, reflecting a significant economic boost. Head of the Industrial Policy Agency (BSKJI) Emmy Suryandari emphasized that these achievements demonstrate the event's evolution into a vital platform for investment and industry networking.

"This achievement shows that Industrial Festival x Halal Indo serves as a platform connecting industry, markets, and investment to strengthen the national halal ecosystem," Emmy said during the closing ceremony on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

The Ministry of Industry remains committed to scaling up halal certification as a key instrument for improving product quality, market competitiveness, and global export access. Officials expect stakeholders to swiftly realize these secured business commitments to sustain long-term growth across the domestic and international supply chains.

"Halal Indo 2026 may have concluded, but the spirit and collaboration built here must not stop. All ideas and business commitments must be translated into real action to strengthen Indonesia's halal industry," Emmy said.
