RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Indonesian Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (INTRAC) and PT Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI) are strengthening cooperation to safeguard the integrity of Indonesia’s capital market.
The initiative was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) building in Jakarta on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
INTRAC Director Ivan Yustiavandana said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to strengthening the integrity of the national financial system. He noted that developments in financial products, services, and technology must be accompanied by the ability to anticipate risks of financial system abuse.
“The capital market plays a vital role in supporting the national economy. Therefore, the integrity of and trust in the capital market must be continuously maintained,” Ivan said in a press release on Thursday, September 10, 2026.
Through this collaboration, INTRAC and KSEI are strengthening coordination and information exchange within their respective authorities. Enhancing human resource capacity is also part of efforts to reinforce capital market oversight.
Ivan said the cooperation supports the prevention and eradication of money laundering (AML), as well as the prevention of terrorist financing (CFT) and the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (CFPWMD).
He added that strengthening interagency cooperation aligns with Indonesia’s efforts to enhance the effectiveness of its AML, CFT, and CFPWMD regimes, including risk assessment, improving oversight quality, and preventing misconduct in the financial sector.
Meanwhile, KSEI President Director Samsul Hidayat said KSEI plays a crucial role as a Central Securities Depository (CSD), tasked with accurately recording securities ownership and managing reliable capital market infrastructure. “KSEI is committed to supporting the strengthening of Indonesia’s capital market integrity by carrying out our duties and authorities as stipulated by applicable regulations,” he said.
Samsul expects that cooperation with INTRAC will further strengthen interagency coordination in implementing AML, CFT, and CFPWMD principles. This step is expected to help maintain transparency, market health, and investor confidence in Indonesia’s capital market.
From a supervisory perspective, Executive Head of Capital Market, Derivatives, and Carbon Exchange Supervision at the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Hasan Fawzi, said the collaboration strengthens capital market governance. He noted that digitalization and the complexity of cross‑sector transactions present potential risks of financial system abuse.
Therefore, Indonesia’s capital market must continue to reinforce integrity, transparency, and good governance. OJK’s support is essential to ensure that capital market development proceeds in line with the implementation of AML, CFT, and CFPWMD principles.
Hasan said the MoU aligns with the Action Plan for Accelerating the Reform of Integrity in the Indonesian Capital Market and serves as a strategic step to strengthen interagency synergy.
INTRAC and KSEI expect the MoU to serve as a foundation for closer and more sustainable cooperation. Coordination between regulatory authorities, financial intelligence agencies, and capital market infrastructure is expected to strengthen Indonesia’s financial system. (Gusti Panji)
