RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – CEO of Danantara Indonesia, Rosan Roeslani said Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) has officially announced its operational readiness to strengthen the governance of exports of national strategic commodities. This move aims to increase transparency and maximize economic value added for Indonesia in international markets.
The announcement of the implementation plan and the board of directors was made in Jakarta on Monday, August 24, 2026. This state-owned export company, established under Government Regulation No. 24 of 2026, focuses on coal, palm oil, and ferroalloys.
“Indonesia has abundant natural resources, but resources alone are not enough. We need stronger governance, better visibility, and a more accountable system to ensure that the value generated from these commodities is properly recorded and optimized for the national interest,” Rosan Roeslani said.
Since beginning operations on June 1, 2026, DSI has monitored more than 6,500 export declarations worth 14 billion U.S. dollars. The scope of this data analysis covers shipments of more than 90 million metric tons of commodities to 100 destination countries.
To ensure the smooth flow of trade, DSI CEO Luke Mahony explained DSI has partnered with APINDO, FINI, APBI-ICMA, and GAPKI in an industry task force. This collaboration ensures that the new system can operate in harmony with global market dynamics without disrupting business certainty.
“Since we began operations, we have gained visibility into thousands of export transactions and built the analytical foundation necessary to support DSI’s mandate. We will continue to expand our monitoring, verification, and operational capabilities to support a more transparent, accountable, and efficient export ecosystem while maintaining business certainty and the sustainability of exports,” DSI CEO Luke Mahony explained.
DSI emphasizes that it is here to complement the national export ecosystem without taking over regulatory authority from the relevant ministries. The new leadership team is expected to make Indonesia’s trade system more integrated and globally competitive.
