Indonesian MSMEs Secure USD 29,000 Export Deal in Chile

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are expanding into the Chilean market after securing a USD 29,000 (approx. IDR 510 million) export order for processed fruit, vegetable, and tempeh snacks.

The products, ordered by Chilean buyer Cencosud Retail S.A., were shipped from Indonesia in the second week of August 2026 and are expected to arrive in Chile in October for distribution through local retail networks.

The deal involves CV Pangantama Makmur Abadi, which produces mango, apple, jackfruit, broccoli, and mushroom chips, and CV Arva Indonesia, which produces tempeh chips in truffle, honey butter, and Himalayan salt basil flavors.

Director General of National Export Development at the Ministry of Trade, Fajarini Puntodewi, welcomed the achievement, saying the deal could lead to additional transactions worth up to USD 29,000 if the products receive a positive response in Chile.

“This transaction can be the beginning of sustainable, long-term cooperation with local buyers,” Puntodewi said, on Monday, August 24, 2026, as quoted on the ministry's official website, highlighting the ministry’s efforts through trade promotion, market exploration, exhibitions, and business communication assistance.

The transaction followed the companies’ participation in Espacio Food & Service 2025 and was facilitated through business communication coordinated by the Ministry of Trade, ITPC Santiago, and the Indonesian Embassy in Santiago.

Owner of CV Pangantama Makmur Abadi, Irene Hartanto, thanked all parties involved and encouraged other MSMEs to utilize the Ministry of Trade’s export facilitation.

ITPC Santiago and the Indonesian Embassy in Santiago also facilitated business matching between PT Mega Inovasi Organik and Chilean importer Agro Imagina on July 29, 2026.

Agro Imagina expressed interest in Indonesian spices and is continuing discussions on product specifications, quality standards, packaging, prices, supply capacity, and supporting documents. The potential purchase is estimated at one 20-foot container worth USD 70,000 in 2026.

ITPC Santiago will continue monitoring communication between Indonesian exporters and Chilean buyers, including shipping, import requirements, product arrival, distribution, and sales.

Indonesia-Chile trade reached USD 277.4 million in January-June 2026, with Indonesian exports at USD 219.8 million and imports at USD 57.6 million, resulting in a USD 162.2 million surplus.

In 2025, total trade reached USD 534.9 million, with Indonesia recording a USD 346.8 million surplus. Major Indonesian exports included vehicles and parts, footwear, fertilizers, machinery, and paper and paperboard. ***
