RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Trade reported strong results from its business‑matching program for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
From January to July 2026, the program facilitated 1,021 MSMEs and recorded USD 333.68 million in transactions, comprising USD 58.06 million in purchase orders (POs) and USD 275.61 million in potential transactions.
Director General of National Export Development, Fajarini Puntodewi, said business matching remains one of the Ministry’s key efforts to expand export market access for MSMEs.
“Throughout January to July 2026, the Ministry connected more than a thousand MSMEs with buyers from various countries. Many of these MSMEs had never exported before,” she said on Thursday, August 20, 2026, as quoted on the Ministry’s official website.
During the period, the Ministry facilitated 546 business‑matching activities. Of these, 281 were pitching sessions with Indonesia’s trade representatives (ITPC) in 33 export destination countries, while 265 were direct meetings with buyers.
In July alone, the Ministry facilitated 122 business‑matching events involving 396 MSMEs. These included 44 pitching sessions and 78 meetings with buyers. A total of 79 buyers from 15 countries participated, generating USD 82.33 million in transactions -- USD 21.34 million in POs and USD 60.99 million in potential deals.
Buyers came from Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, India, the United States, Nigeria, Mexico, China, and Australia.
In-demand products included processed foods and beverages, fashion, handicrafts, home décor, furniture, coffee, herbs, coconut products, essential oils, bird’s nest, and coconut charcoal and briquettes.
“The diversity of destination countries and product demand shows the vast export opportunities available to MSMEs. We will continue optimizing the role of Indonesia’s trade representatives in identifying potential buyers and connecting them with Indonesian exporters,” Puntodewi said.
The Ministry is working with several MSME-supporting institutions, including the Indonesian Women Entrepreneurs Association (IWAPI), Sarinah, Bank Indonesia, the West Java and East Java Industry and Trade Agencies, and the Export Center.
Puntodewi said the Ministry will continue strengthening business matching as part of efforts to enhance competitiveness and expand export markets. “We hope the opportunities generated through business matching will develop into long-term trade partnerships and sustainable export transactions,” she said.
