RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Specialty Indonesia 2026 will serve as a platform for flagship products made from local raw materials to expand their market reach. The Ministry of Industry expects the event to open wider business and export opportunities for the national specialty industry.

The event will run from August 10–13, 2026, featuring an exhibition, business‑matching sessions, seminars, and competitions. A total of 48 curated companies will join the exhibition, while 30 companies will participate in business‑matching activities.

“Specialty Indonesia is a platform to showcase the quality and uniqueness of Indonesian products, while fostering connections between industry players and potential domestic and international markets and business partners,” Deputy Minister of Industry, Faisol Riza, said during the opening of Specialty Indonesia 2026 in Jakarta on Monday, August 10, as quoted on the Ministry’s official website.

Faisol said Indonesia has a wealth of commodities that can be processed into high‑value‑added products capable of competing globally. These include coffee, tea, cocoa, horticultural products, dairy products, cigars, and various fermented products made from local raw materials.

He emphasized that strengthening the specialty industry requires more than raw‑material availability. The industry must improve quality, innovation, design, packaging, branding, and marketing strategies so Indonesian products have a strong identity and can enter global markets.

Indonesia holds a significant position in several of these commodities. The country is the world’s fourth‑largest coffee producer, the fourth‑largest producer of processed cocoa products, and the seventh‑largest producer of cocoa beans.

Export performance also highlights opportunities for specialty product development. Indonesia’s processed coffee exports reached USD 692 million in 2025, up 4.36 percent from 2024, while horticultural product exports reached USD 544.8 million.

Growth potential is also seen in tea and processed dairy products. Global tea extract exports rose to USD 5.6 million in 2025, while products such as cheese and gelato are expected to grow alongside the expansion of the culinary, hotel, restaurant, and café sectors.

Specialty Indonesia 2026 will also introduce the Indonesian Fermentation Forum Experience to highlight the richness of Indonesia’s fermented products. The forum aims to connect Indonesia’s fermentation heritage with the development of modern, value‑added industries.

Acting Director General of Agro‑Industry, Putu Juli Ardika, said business matching plays a crucial role in expanding market access for national specialty products.

“We expect this event to foster more collaborations between Indonesian specialty businesses and end‑users such as hotels, restaurants, cafés, and international retailers, thereby strengthening the brand image of our products and increasing their recognition in the global market,” he said.

The hosting of Specialty Indonesia 2026 also reinforces efforts to promote downstream processing of national commodities.

Through processing, brand strengthening, and market‑network expansion, products based on local resources are expected to gain higher economic value and greater recognition among global consumers. ***
