RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Industry Ministry is strengthening the agro‑industry’s readiness to enter international markets through a Technical Guidance (Bimtek) program on export management for industry players.
The Directorate General of Agro‑Industry held the training in Jakarta from July 21–24, 2026, with 20 participants from 16 companies engaged in the spice, seaweed, microalgae, and sago sectors.
Acting Director General of Agro‑Industry, Putu Juli Ardika, said mastering export management is essential amid intensifying global competition.
“Businesses need the ability to accurately identify market opportunities, understand the requirements of export destination countries, and effectively communicate their products’ advantages to potential global buyers,” Putu said in Jakarta on Saturday, August 8, 2026, as quoted on the ministry’s official website.
He added that the program was designed to equip companies with practical skills they can immediately apply to develop export markets. Participants learned how to use market intelligence to identify opportunities and support data‑driven business decisions.
The training also covered compliance with quality and food safety standards required by destination countries. The ministry further introduced sustainability principles as part of a strategy to enhance product competitiveness.
Participants were trained to develop a Sustainability Company Profile and a Sustainability Pitch Deck to communicate their environmental and governance commitments to potential global buyers.
“International market trends show that sustainability is increasingly becoming a key consideration for buyers. Our industry must demonstrate not only high‑quality products but also responsible and sustainable business practices,” Putu said.
The program featured group discussions, export experience sharing sessions, case studies, and workshops on developing promotional materials. These methods were intended to help participants formulate export strategies to support business growth.
Putu hopes the strengthened competencies will expand international business networks and elevate spices, seaweed, microalgae, and sago from basic commodities into value‑added products. ***
