RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia’s financial system is expected to remain stable following Perry Warjiyo’s resignation as Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI). Cross-agency collaboration within the Committee for Financial System Stability (CFSS) is set to continue to ensure the sustainability of economic policy.

“Monetary policy and coordination with the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and the Minister of Finance will continue, and will even grow stronger,” said LPS Board of Commissioners Chair, Anggito Abimanyu, after the National Seminar of the Indonesian Economists Association (ISEI) Jakarta Chapter of the Association of National Bank Association (Perbanas) in Jakarta on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Anggito explained that Perry’s resignation was due to personal and family reasons and would not affect institutional coordination. “Last night, the President said there is nothing to worry about, as this is a continuation of existing policies. We just need to build stronger coordination,” he said.

He also expressed appreciation for Perry’s contributions during his tenure at BI. “His dedication has been extraordinary, as evidenced by his tangible achievements,” Anggito said.

Anggito added that the banking sector remains resilient, with third-party funds growing by 10 percent, capital increasing by about 24 percent, and the non-performing loan ratio steady at around 2 percent. These conditions provide sufficient room for the banking sector to navigate economic uncertainty.

Earlier, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi announced that the President had accepted Perry Warjiyo’s resignation as BI Governor. The BI Board of Governors subsequently appointed Senior Deputy Governor Destry Damayanti as acting governor to ensure the central bank’s duties and authorities remain intact. ***
