RRI.CO.ID, Bogor - Indonesia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is strengthening the Hajj economic ecosystem through broader cross-sector collaboration. The initiative was highlighted during a development program in Bogor on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
The initiative supports the ministry's Three Hajj Successes program, covering successful pilgrimage services, a stronger Hajj economy, and sustainable social development. Indonesia's government is working with ministries, institutions, businesses, regional governments, and other stakeholders to expand Hajj's economic benefits.
Director General for Hajj and Umrah Economic Ecosystem Development Jaenal Effendi said the ministry is strengthening the Hajj economy through collaboration across multiple sectors. He said broader partnerships are needed to ensure the economic benefits of Hajj reach more communities.
“The Hajj economic ecosystem cannot be built by one party alone. It requires collaboration among ministries, government agencies, regional governments, businesses, and the public so that the economic benefits of Hajj can be enjoyed more broadly,” he said.
Jaenal said the ministry is preparing a Hajj souvenir platform connecting pilgrims with quality products from Indonesian businesses. The platform is expected to create a transparent marketplace while increasing the value of local products.
He added the platform will allow economic benefits to continue beyond the pilgrimage period. The initiative is also expected to strengthen Indonesia's Hajj-related business ecosystem.
Jaenal said developing the Hajj economy is a long-term agenda requiring strong commitment from all stakeholders. Therefore, the ministry continues expanding partnerships to strengthen the value chain created through Hajj and Umrah services.
“We want to create a platform connecting pilgrims with quality products from national businesses. We hope the economic benefits of Hajj will continue circulating and contribute to the wider economy even after the pilgrimage ends,” he added.
The ministry believes stronger collaboration will help fully realize the Three Hajj Successes program. It also aims to deliver quality pilgrimage services while creating sustainable economic value for Indonesia.
