RRI.CO.ID, Seoul – Indonesia’s processed food products and agricultural commodities successfully attracted the interest of potential buyers at the Korea Import Expo (KIE) 2026 at the COEX Exhibition Hall in Seoul, South Korea, June 23–25, 2026. Indonesia’s participation in the event generated potential export transactions totaling USD 1.92 million, or approximately Rp34.58 billion.

In a press release on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, Indonesian Trade Attaché in Seoul, Roesfitawati, stated that the achievements at KIE 2026 demonstrate the growing opportunities for Indonesian processed food products in the South Korean market. A series of business matching sessions were also held intensively both before and after the exhibition.

Through this initiative, the Indonesian Trade Attaché in Seoul facilitated 35 business exploration sessions for Indonesian exhibitors. The most sought-after commodities included specialty coffee, cocoa, and processed potato chips.

“The results of the business matching sessions demonstrate strong interest from local buyers in high-quality, value-added Indonesian products that meet international market standards. These results also serve as an incentive for Indonesian businesses to continue improving product quality, innovation, and sustainability in order to compete globally,” she said.

At KIE 2026, Indonesia showcased 15 leading micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) curated by the Directorate General of National Export Development of the Indonesian Ministry of Trade. The products on display included specialty coffee, cocoa, potato chips, dried fruits and vegetables, fruit-based tea, mocaf flour, gluten-free cookies, sea salt, and various processed food products.

General Manager of PT Pareto Estu Guna, Mochamad Pujiono, stated that the company’s participation in KIE 2026 had a positive impact on promoting its potato chips and opening up export opportunities to South Korea. He also expressed appreciation for the support provided by the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (Atdag RI) in Seoul, which facilitated business exploration with potential buyers.

“Our products received a very enthusiastic response from exhibition visitors. In addition, we participated in seven business exploration sessions with potential transactions totaling around USD 260,000. We hope that the support from the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (Atdag RI) in Seoul will continue until exports to South Korea are realized,” he said.

From January to May 2026, Indonesia’s total trade with South Korea reached USD 7.61 billion. During this period, the value of Indonesia’s exports to South Korea reached USD 4.05 billion, while Indonesia’s imports from South Korea amounted to USD 3.56 billion. Meanwhile, in 2025, Indonesia’s total trade with South Korea reached USD 18.04 billion.

That year, the value of Indonesia’s exports to South Korea reached USD 10.14 billion, and Indonesia’s imports from South Korea totaled USD 7.90 billion.
