RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian Deputy Minister of Trade, Dyah Roro Esti, said that Indonesian fashion products are increasingly in demand in the international market. She emphasized that local creativity has now successfully reached world-class standards.
Roro believes that the central government and regional administrations must cooperate to support the creative industry. Improving regional product quality, she continued, is a key factor in strengthening the current national fashion ecosystem.
“Local fashion products in the regions continue to show an increase in quality. This is consistent with the national fashion ecosystem development,” said Roro in Jakarta on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
Roro assured that the Ministry is committed to consistently encouraging the export of fashion products. She said strengthening international trade diplomacy is the government’s primary strategy for expanding its global market reach.
She mentioned that national business actors can leverage trade representative offices in various countries. “Indonesian business actors, including those in the fashion sector, can utilize these offices to help promote their products in the countries where the representatives are located,” said Roro.

The Indonesia Fashion Aesthetics (IFA) 2026 event brings together dozens of renowned designers to build strategic upstream and downstream collaborations. This event is expected to generate new trade contracts that will benefit the national economy.
Indonesia's reputation as a center of creative fashion must continue to be strengthened through the character of wastra Nusantara (Indonesian indigenous textiles). The modest fashion segment is a competitive advantage aligned with current global trends.
“Through this event, we hope that new collaborations and trade contracts will arise. This event is also expected to strengthen Indonesia's identity as a source of creative and distinctive fashion, including in the modest fashion and Nusantara wastra segments,” said Roro.
Meanwhile, Arvisintia, a fashion entrepreneur from Purworejo, Central Java, considers this exhibition a valuable source of inspiration. She said the event helped local entrepreneurs map potential business opportunities.
“Hopefully, more similar events can be held in various locations,” said Arvisintia. According to her, expanding the exhibition locations will provide opportunities for local brands to showcase their best works. ***
