RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s stock market advanced significantly on today’s trading session, 9 February 2026. The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) gained 1.22 percent, ending the day at 8,031.874.
The positive performance was supported by gains across most Asian stock markets. Earlier concerns over a downgrade in Indonesia’s credit rating outlook have started to ease, improving market sentiment.
Investor confidence was further enhanced by Indonesia’s Consumer Confidence Index, which rose to 127 in January, indicating stronger optimism toward domestic economic conditions.
The Indonesian rupiah also strengthened, closing at 16,795 per US dollar. Improved domestic sentiment, combined with weaker US economic indicators, weighed on the US dollar and supported the rupiah.
Meanwhile, global gold prices remained stable at around $5,015 per troy ounce in afternoon trading, equivalent to approximately IDR 2.72 million per gram.
Gold prices held firm amid concerns over rising geopolitical tensions between the United States and Iran. Market participants remain on the sidelines as they monitor potential developments between the two countries.
Ongoing geopolitical uncertainty has encouraged central banks worldwide to increase gold purchases. In times of political and economic uncertainty, gold is often seen as a safe reserve asset, especially amid growing concerns over global conflict risks.
