RRI.CO.ID, Pangkalpinang - The beauty of cual woven fabric, a traditional textile unique to Bangka Belitung Islands Province, captivated visitors at the Main Stage of the 2026 Kriyanusa Exhibition at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC) on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. The appearance of this ancestral textile heritage at the Indonesian Regional Attire Parade marked a strategic opportunity to introduce the motifs and philosophy of cual weaving to a national audience.

“Bangka Belitung’s participation in this year’s Kriyanusa has produced positive results for local artisans by helping promote and market various traditional crafts from the Bangka Belitung Islands in the national market,” said the Chairperson of the Bangka Belitung Provincial Regional National Crafts Council (Dekranasda), Noni Hidayat Arsani, in Pangkalpinang on Thursday, October 1, 2026.

She expressed gratitude that traditional crafts from the Bangka Belitung Islands had sold well and attracted strong interest from visitors to the 2026 Kriyanusa Exhibition.

“At the closing of this year’s Kriyanusa Exhibition, all provincial Dekranasda organizations from across Indonesia appeared in a parade showcasing their respective regional textiles, and I wore a traditional Bangka Belitung cual outfit,” said Noni, as quoted by Antara.

She said the regional attire parade at the culmination of the 2026 Kriyanusa Exhibition served as a promotional platform for the archipelago’s diverse cultural heritage and traditional clothing, including cual woven attire.

“Thankfully, Kriyanusa 2026 has come to an end, and we delivered our best performance by wearing regional textiles at the closing ceremony. See you at Kriyanusa 2027,” said Noni. ***
