Dieng Culture Festival 2026 Brings Together Culture, Arts, and Nature

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Dieng Culture Festival (DCF) 2026 will once again be held in Dieng Kulon Village, Batur District, Banjarnegara Regency, Central Java, from August 28 to 30, 2026. The annual festival is one of the cultural events eagerly anticipated by local communities and tourists.

DCF 2026 serves as a meeting point for tradition, nature, arts, and the people of Dieng. The festival features a variety of activities that highlight ancestral heritage while presenting it in ways that remain relevant to contemporary audiences.

The DCF is also part of the Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN), a national tourism event program, and is recognized as one of Central Java's leading cultural events. Its presence further strengthens tourism based on local culture and wisdom in the Dieng Highlands.

The DCF 2026 series of events will begin with a cultural discussion titled Kongkow Budaya. The event will feature cultural figure Sabrang Mowo Damar Panuluh, along with other cultural figures and community leaders.

The discussion will be followed by a musical performance by Kiai Kanjeng at the Arjuna Venue.

In addition to the Arjuna Venue, DCF 2026 will feature several other performance venues. The Gatotkaca Venue will host the Dieng Coffee Festival and Jazz Atas Awan Showcase. Meanwhile, the Pandawa Venue will host Jazz Atas Awan, featuring a number of national musicians and artists.

One of the events eagerly anticipated by visitors is Gebyar Lentera, or the lantern release. The tradition will once again be part of DCF 2026 and is scheduled to take place at the Pandawa Venue on Saturday, August 29, evening. The lantern release has become one of the festival's iconic moments, creating a distinctive atmosphere amid the cool temperatures of the Dieng Highlands.

Since its inception, DCF has been known for keeping the names of performing musicians and artists under wraps. This tradition is part of the festival's element of surprise for visitors.

According to a press release received by RRI VOI, Dieng Culture Festival General Coordinator, Alif Faozi, said that enthusiasm among travelers to attend DCF remains high despite the organizers' decision not to announce the lineup of performers.

The high level of interest can be seen in the number of hotel rooms and accommodations in the Dieng area that have already been booked. Thousands of travelers are reportedly expected to attend the festival and have secured accommodation for the event.

Banjarnegara Regent Dr. Amalia Desiana, expressed her support for the Dieng Culture Festival. She said the festival contributes to increased economic activity among communities in the Dieng Highlands.

“Last year, the festival lasted only two days and generated an economic impact of more than Rp40 billion in circulation, while tourists generally stayed for only one night. This year, the festival will last three days, and some tourists will stay for two nights. Hopefully, this will generate greater economic activity and increase local residents' income,” Amalia Desiana said.
